Since 2013 I have travelled extensively in North America, including over 25 US states and North East Canada, through lengthy solo road trips. During this time I concentrated on visiting 15 national parks, plus cities including New York, Washington DC, Miami, Nashville, New Orleans, Memphis, San Fransisco, Seattle, Las Vegas, Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa and a host of small towns. I was artist in residence in New York [Vytlacil] on 3 separate occasions, totalling 20 weeks, during which time most of my North America Series were started, then completed back in my UK studio. These artworks are based on my visual impressions of landscapes and other things that made an impression on me.
